Beijing Series 06

This is the series of work I made while on my long-term residency in China from April to June 2006.

I wanted to go to China and see the current statis of women as I have noticed that in the chinese film industry women are beginning to be portrayed as strong and independent, and I wanted to see if this wsa reflected on the streets.

I created 8 stone sculptures - 7 of which are listed here (the other one is under Works in Progress). In addition I have a letter about the basics of why I was there and what I was doing and what I had expereinced halfway through the residency. Also there are pictures of some of my steckes and a couple of the palsticene models on the Beijing Sketches & Models Page. These may take a while to load - I've tried to keep them small.
